Chinese Traditional Festival - Hungry Ghost Festival, also called Zhongyuan Festival, on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, this is a traditional festival in China. It’s also called Obon Festival in Buddhism. This is a traditional festival in China. It’s said that ghosts could be in the human world mourned by people on this day.



In the Han Dynasty, Chinese usually celebrated harvest on this day. People use the harvested crops to mourn their ancestors, and hold some grand events on this day. However, as the time goes by, mourning is the main aims on this day. This festival is not a festival, it’s also become cultural activity. In ancient, poets composed many poems to celebrate. In 2010, it became an intangible Cultural Heritage in China.

No matter what the meaning of this culture is, respecting ancestors and harvest are the most meanings of Zhongyuan Festival. Wanli wish there is no starve in the world.
